More info

The Blade and ImmersionRC brands come together to deliver the Blade Vortex 230 Mojo BNF Basic Racing Drone, an FPV racing drone that's ready to fly right out of the box. All you need to take to the skies is a compatible video transmitter, FPV headset, 1350mAh LiPo flight battery, and charger. Once in the air, you can enjoy the dynamic 5.8 GHz video transmitter that gives you a front row seat to the action via FPV.

The 40-channel video transmitter can even save you precious battery life before a race or after a crash by lowering power usage automatically. To help give you a well-rounded racing experience, Blade also incorporates seven 32-bit ARM processors to run nearly every aspect of the drone such as the flight controller, OSD, and ESCs. Add the ability to upload ProTuned profiles and you have a mini-quad racer that can fit your specific piloting needs.

BNF Requirements

The following equipment is required to get the Vortex 230 Mojo ready for race day:

  • A full-range 5+ channel multifunction transmitter with support for Spektrum 2.4 GHz DSM2/DSMX technology
  • 5.8 GHz-compatible FPV headset or monitor
  • 3S or 4S 1350mAh LiPo flight battery and charger

Seven ARM Processors

The Vortex 230 Mojo comes equipped with dedicated 32-bit ARM processors for the flight controller, full-graphic OSD, a programmable LED circuit board, and four high-performance ESCs.

Fusion F3 Flight Controller with BetaFlight

The integrated flight controller is engineered to provide 8 kHz loop times and BetaFlight firmware to help provide controls that feel intuitive. The built-in USB port lets you upgrade the BetaFlight firmware so you can keep your Vortex 230 up to date.

Dynamic Power Control

In order to preserve battery life, the video transmitter supports all power levels in addition to all standard FPV channels. The power levels can adjust to under 1mW to over 600mW. Being able to lower power levels this much has multiple benefits. It helps keep temperatures low and preserve battery life when waiting at the starting grid, or after a crash so you have more time to locate the drone.

Integrated TNR Antenna

The TNR (Touch-n-Race) NFC antenna supports ImmersionRC's Personal and Race Director's wand. This optional accessory is designed to let you set specific frequencies and channels of the video transmitter without having to mess with the drone itself.

PitStick Mode for Simple Channel Changing

This mode lets the Vortex 230 Mojo power up with the video transmitter disabled, and will only start transmitting when instructed to by the RC transmitter. The right stick of your transmitter is used to select channels 1 through 8.

DSMX Video Transmitter Control

With supported Spektrum transmitters you can directly control the Vortex 230 Mojo's video transmitter. First it lets you power up safely in pit mode, where it will find a free channel on your (optional video goggles. Then you can use the radio to select the frequency band, channel, and power level.

ProTuned Firmware Support

The preloaded ProTuned firmware is designed to make the Vortex 230 seem like it's flying on rails. The firmware can be changed with downloadable profiles to let you customize flight performance.

Programmable LEDS

The Vortex 230 Mojo comes with eight 24-bit RGB LEDs integrated between the upper and lower frames on the tail end of the drone. Through its dedicated ARM processor, you can program these to change color, act as brake lights or turn indicators, and more.

Full Graphic Display with EzOSD

Whether you use a headset or monitor, you can use your RC transmitter to adjust critical parameters via the EzOSD menu, and several default layouts are already included. With a real-time interface using the Vortex's flight controller you can enable artificial horizons, fighter jet-style displays, and an exchange of flight parameters. All OSD layouts include screen-center alerts for critical warnings such as battery voltage, critical EzUHF link status, and more.

Additional Features

  • Durable construction is built to withstand competitive racing
  • Loud "Lost Model" beeper helps you locate the Vortex 230 after a crash
